Martha — sometimes Marty, sometimes Gabs—is a Venezuelan-born artist who quick-doodles for fun and occasionally for money. This is her website. Here, you can request things, buy things, and stare at things she has made.
She works from her home in Montréal, mostly accompanied by her dog, Hayley (spirit animal to the masses, ambassador of the growls, rescued via R.A.D. 🐾)
A Brief History of Bad Ideas & Good Decisions
As a kid, Martha wanted to be a nun. This dream ended abruptly when she discovered other religions existed. So, naturally, she pivoted to Graphic Design, Illustration & Marketing, worked for a while, had an identity crisis, and fled to Africa in search of the meaning of humanity.
She returned poor but happy; with the mindset to restart and kill it in the name of women & arts.
Work & Other Things That Sound Important
By day, she’s the Head of Creative at Hart Print, where she and an awesome team redefine what’s possible for beverage brands, making the universe of aluminum cans a little wilder, smarter, and more beautiful. She’s on a mission to empower designers, open doors for artists, and integrate Design Thinking into every layer of a business.
By night (and occasionally mid-afternoon), she doodles things that make people smile, connects with humans at any level, and tests every medium she can get her hands on.
